: Jun 18, 2018 (2) on Mt Desert Rock. late Aug-early Nov with most records in Oct. Confusion with brightly colored juvenile Black-bellied Plover possible.
Miscellany: Our area has few of the preferred American Golden Plover habitats; grasslands, sod farms and plowed or fallow fields. All but three, the one noted above and two record from Mount Desert Rock, Aug 20 2018 and Aug 17. 2023, are of juveniles. In fall most adults appear to stage in Baffin Island, Canada and then fly non-stop to South America.
