: Jun 18, 2018 (2) on Mt Desert Rock. late Aug-early Nov with most records in Oct. Confusion with brightly colored juvenile Black-bellied Plover possible.
Miscellany: Our area has few of the preferred American Golden Plover habitats; grasslands, sod farms and plowed or fallow fields. All but two, the one noted above and an Aug 20, 2018 record from Mount Desert Rock, are of juveniles. In fall most adults appear to stage in Baffin Island, Canada and then fly non-stop to South America.
