    Black Skimmer / Rynchops niger

Wanderer: Jul-Sep, all following strong coastal storms.

Miscellany: A major storm moving north along the western Atlantic in mid Sep 2019 entrained hundreds of Black Skimmers somewhere en route and deposited them onshore once the storm center crossed Nova Scotia. Over the next days and weeks, those that survived made their way back south and at least four groups of two to four individuals were seen from Schoodic Point and the eastern side of MDI including two resting on a floating platform in Bar Harbor and four near Ship Harbor.
