    Clapper Rail / Rallus crepitans

Wanderer: Aug 1950 in Manset (found dead); Aug 31, 1966 at Ship Harbor; and Oct 14, 1982 on Mount Desert Rock.

Miscellany: Most Clapper Rails are sedentary but those that breed in Atlantic saltmarshes north to the southern New England are both migratory and prone to wander, especially in fall, having been recorded multiple times as far northeast as Newfoundland.
