    Common Grackle / Quiscalus quiscula

: Breeds. Apr-mid Aug primarily around towns and villages but as well fresh water ponds, beaver flowages and marshes.

: early Mar-mid Apr and late Aug/early Sep-early Nov with from late Feb and to late Nov/early Dec . Often in small flocks.

: mid Dec-mid Feb mostly at bird feeders.

Miscellany: Up to the mid 1990s/early 2000s, small numbers of Common Grackles routinely remained at least into early January, almost always at bird feeders, but since then they've been mostly unrecorded at this time, paralleling the winter distribution of Brown-headed Cowbirds. The reasons for their winter disappearance aren't clear.
