: Breeds. Present Apr-Aug on several MDI lakes and ponds, with males arriving shortly after the ice melt and the young if any remaining on their natal ponds into Nov, occasionally early Dec. In years, Jordan Pond, Somes Pond, Upper Hadlock Pond, Little Long Pond and the south end of Echo Lake have supported pairs. Non-breeding birds, presumably one and two year olds, are present on salt water mid Jun-early Sep.
: to migrant mostly late Mar-early Jun with a peak late Apr-late May, and again mid Sep-late Nov with a peak mid Oct to early Nov. Schoodic Point is an excellent place to watch loon movements with upwards of 20/hour passing on the best days. to Dec-Mar on salt water.
