    Common Nighthawk / Chordeiles minor

    : mid Jun-late Jul, usually over water where foraging or on barren mountain tops, the likely nesting location. First confirmed breeding record Mount Desert, July 31-Aug 1, 2022.

    : mid/late May to early Jun and early Aug-mid Sep, except for a brief period late Aug/early Sep when , and with to early Oct.

    Miscellany: Common Nighthawk has declined noticeably in the last 50 years but it's still possible for a brief period in late Aug/early Sep to see twisting flocks of 10-20 birds moving rapidly west in late afternoon/early evening just over the treetops.
