: Breeds. May-Aug in mature deciduous and mixed woods. Not averse to nesting in settled areas. Inconspicuous until young are fledged mid-late summer.
: to Aug-Oct with a mid Sep-early Oct peak and to early Nov. The vast majority of records are from the Cadillac Mountain Hawkwatch.
: Probably Dec-Mar as there are many reports but few confirming images. Status vexed by similarity to both Sharp-shinned Hawk and imm. Northern Goshawk.
Miscellany: There were no accepted records of Cooper's Hawk prior to the 1980s but the species has increased slowly but steadily since then, especially since 1990 paralleling their increase generally in the Northeast.
