Migration
:
Rare
mid Aug-mid Oct with
outliers
to mid Nov. No
recent
records late Nov-early Aug.
Miscellany: Between 1950 and 1980, Dickcissels were recorded in about half the winters at
local
bird feeders, usually in the company of House Sparrows. None have been recorded since. The
winter
disappearance was correlated with a very large control program in Venezuela where most of the world's Dickcissels
winter
in huge flocks and where they were a significant agricultural pest.
