: Presumably early Nov-late Mar with from late Oct but few data. from land in the same period.
Miscellany: Strong easterly storms, especially during Nov when Dovekies are migrating, can bring large numbers close to shore (or even on occasion inland) but the last ‘wreck' in our area was in 1969. Populations are thought to have declined since then, and Dovekies have been recorded on only four Schoodic CBCs since 1991. Still, it's worth looking after easterly storms from Schoodic Point and along the Sand Beach/Otter Point section of Ocean Drive.
Mid-late pint-sized young Razorbills and Common Murres, swimming with their adult male parent, are sometimes reported as Dovekies. However an adult Dovekie was photographed Aug 9, 2025 just east of our area, one of the very, very few confirmed records for Maine
