    Dunlin / Calidris alpina

    : mid May-early Jun with most records from islands, and early Sep-early Nov with from early Aug and to mid Nov. Most likely to be seen in broad expanses of mud such as are found at low tide at the . No records late Nov-early May but birds have been seen just outside our area at Marlboro Beach and Trenton into Jan-Feb.

    Miscellany: Most spring migrant Dunlins migrate overland to our west. Fall migration largely passes over us as other than the Mount Desert Narrows, we lack the favored non-rocky intertidal habitat.
