Greater White-fronted Goose / Anser albifrons

Wanderer: Oct 30, 1978 on Long Island, Oct 11-12, 1995 with Canada Geese off Thompson's Island, and Oct 11, 1996 with Canada Goose off Thompson's Island (possibly the same as the 1995 bird).

Miscellany: White-fronted Geese that occur in Maine are thought to come from Greenland rather than western North America. Most of the Greenland birds winter in Europe but every year a few attach to flocks of Greenland nesting Canada Geese and subsequently migrate with them down the east coast of North America.
