    Harris's Sparrow / Zonotrichia querula

    : Oct 13-14, 1972 on Little Cranberry Island and June 21, 1981 on Mount Desert Rock.

    Miscellany: Harris' Sparrow occupies a narrow range, breeding in northwestern Canada and wintering in the southern Great Plains. It was one of the very last regularly occurring North American songbirds to have its nest discovered (1931) and it's the only songbird whose breeding range is entirely within Canada.
