    Hermit Thrush / Catharus guttatus

    : Breeds. to late Apr-early Jul in deciduous and mixed woodlands.

    : to from mid Apr with a late Apr peak and from mid Mar and to early Jun. to late Sep-early Nov, with a mid Oct peak and to early Dec.

    : mid Dec-late Mar, both in the wilds and at bird feeders.

    Miscellany: Hermit Thrush arrives almost a month before Swainson's Thrush. From early May-early Jun, theirs is the only thrush voice, other than American Robin, emanating from woodlands. Listen to the haunting beautiful song, best heard at dawn and dusk, here.
