    Ivory Gull / Pagophila eburnia

    Wanderer: Dec 21, 2020 off Swan's Island.

Miscellany: An adult Ivory Gull was shot in Southwest Harbor, Feb 10, 1940, mounted on a wooded base, and given to Acadia National Park for their collection. Recently, the attempted to locate the specimen but it was no longer in the Park collection and no one knew where it had gone. That mystery was solved when the Park collections managers managed to locate the gull, still on its mount, in the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife collection. It has now been returned to the Park.
