: Jun 9-25, 2006 a male off Seawall and Jun 16, 2022 a female in a flock of flying Common Eider off Great Duck Island. Sightings in the same Jun 2006 time period at Otter Point and Schoodic were thought to be the same bird as at Seawall.
Miscellany: Up until the mid 1990s, King Eider were almost annual in very small numbers but since then, along with the decline and redistribution of Common Eider, the species has been unrecorded in many winters. King Eider may be underreported as the females are similar to female Common Eider and likely overlooked when observed casually.
