    Least Flycatcher / Empidonax minimus

: Breeds. , often in small clusters, late May-late Jul in open deciduous woods, a habitat more on the northeastern side of MDI. In years Sieur du Monts has supported several pairs as has the Schoodic Woods Bike Path

Migration: late May-early Jun with from early May and early Aug-mid Sep with a late Aug-early Sep peak and to late Sep. Difficult to detect but most frequently seen in deciduous and mixed woodlands and places where migrants concentrate.

Miscellany: Least Flycatchers have an interesting migration with adults departing a month or more before the young of the year and only a few days after their young become independent. Competition for territories is thought to be the driver of this behavior.
