: late Jul-mid Sep with to mid Oct. An adult photographed Jun 10, 2016 was probably a late northbound migrant. on/from land Sep 13, 1968 dead on the road in Town Hill.
Miscellany: Long-tailed Jaegers are probably more common than we realized given the difficulties of separating any but fully long-tailed adults from the more common and very similar Parasitic Jaeger, and the general challenges of birding at sea. In the summer 2018, Nathan Dubrow, a COA student, undertook almost continuous observations Jun 21-Aug 30 from the Mount Desert Rock lighthouse. He saw and photographed Long-tails on four occasions between July 26 and Aug 28, some involving multiple birds.
