    Magnolia Warbler / Setophaga magnolia

    : Breeds. to late May-early Aug in open spruce-fir and mixed woodlands with an understory of young spruce-fir.

    : to mid May-early June with a peak late May and from early May and to mid June, and again late Aug- early Oct with a peak early Sep and from mid Aug and to late Oct. Most frequently detected in the habitats noted above and in places where migrants concentrate.

    Miscellany: While most spruce/fir woods Setophaga build their nests in trees' upper reaches, Magnolias prefer dense stands of young trees with nest placement often within a few feet of the ground.
