    Northern Mockingbird / Mimus polyglottos

    : late May-early Jun and again late Aug-early Oct in locations including Mount Desert Rock where unlikely to be in residence.

    Miscellany: Northern Mockingbirds were casual in our area into the 1960s and slowly increased through the 1990s. No nests have been found but mockingbird nests are well hidden and birds have been seen year around. Populations probably rise and fall with the severity of our winters.
