    Northern Wheatear / Oenanthe oenanthe

    Miscellany: Northern Wheatear breeds primarily in northern Eurasia extending east into Alaska/western Canada from Siberia, and west into northern/eastern Canada from Iceland and Greenland. These North American breeders retrace their steps back through Asia and Europe respectively to their wintering grounds in sub-Saharan Africa. Each year, a few presumably misoriented birds pass south through North America.
