Migration
:
Rare
mid May-early Jun and again mid Aug-mid Sep in open usually coniferous woodlands
Miscellany: Olive-sided Flycatcher was a
fairly common
and conspicuous breeder in our open spruce woodlands and bogs through the 1960s and 1970s when its thrilling song could be heard widely. Listen here. Their population has declined markedly since then and while they still breed within 50 miles of MDI, there are no
recent
records here.
