    Pink-footed Goose / Anser brachyrhynchus

Wanderer: May 27-30, 2020 at Babson Creek Preserve.

Miscellany: Craig Kesselheim discovered this bird in a Canada Goose flock in the Maine Coast Heritage Trust preserve salt marsh. It was seen by many until it departed with a sizable number of Canadas on the night of May 30-31, presumably on its way back to Greenland, summer home to a population of both Pink-foots and Canadas.

Pink-foots have become more frequent in recent years; in fall 2019-spring 2020 around 20 were reported from coastal Delaware to eastern Canada although some individual birds may have been reported multiple times as wintering goose flocks can wander widely.
