    Prothonotary Warbler / Prothonotaria citrea

Wanderer: early May-early Jun with from mid Apr (Otter Point Apr 19, 2024), usually males near ponds or fresh water marshes, and again late Aug-mid Sep with one record early Oct, usually immatures at places where migrants concentrate.

Miscellany: Prothonotary is a rare nester in southern New England and like many southeastern landbirds, their presence in our area in spring usually involves young males overshooting their breeding grounds, and in fall, immatures wandering or on misdirected migration.
