: Probably mid Apr-early June but few data. to offshore late Jul-mid Oct with to early Dec. Species identification in fall at sea vexed unless birds are close as few observers can reliably separate distant Red from Red-necked Phalarope. There are no accepted nearshore or fresh water records.
: Uncertain. There are late Dec/early Jan records of phalarope, presumably Reds, and if our waters continue to warm, there will likely be more sightings of this hardy species.
Miscellany: Red Phalaropes can spend as much as 11 months of the year at sea.
