: No records. Ring-necks were brought into Maine as a game bird in 1930s but probably released here only in small numbers due to the climate and the lack of open field habitat. Most don't survive the winters even with supplemental food other than perhaps on the inhabited islands where there are fewer predators, temperatures are somewhat milder, and snow cover less deep.
