    Ruby-crowned Kinglet / Regulus calendula

    : Breeds. beginning early May in mature spruce/fir woods.

    : and widespread mid Apr-mid May with a peak mid/late Apr and from late Mar and to early Jun, and again late Sep-late Oct with a peak late Sep/mid Oct and from late Aug and to late Nov. early Dec-late Jan, usually at bird feeders.

    Miscellany: Although one of the smallest North America songbirds, Ruby-crowns have one of the largest clutches with up to 12 eggs per nest.
