    Ruddy Turnstone / Arenaria interpres

: late May-early Jun with from mid May and to mid Jun, and late July-mid Sep with a peak early Aug and to early Nov. Most records from the and ledges. on the MDI mainland.

: Two Jan records from the 1970s but otherwise absent late Nov-early May.

Miscellany: In the 1970s and early 1980s, hundreds gathered on the Bar Harbor Bar late Jul and early Aug, along with many other shorebirds and gulls, but the small invertebrates that supported these birds vanished, presumably from the effects of water pollution. Some Ruddy Turnstones nest about as far north as a bird can nest, at the northern tip of Greenland.
