Miscellany: Most records of southern terns, e.g. Sandwich, Royal, and Sooty, follow closely the passage of a tropical storm/hurricane. The first record fits this pattern, occurring two days after Tropical Storm Floyd passed offshore, but the second occurred in a period with no active weather.
