Comments: Scissor-tails breed in open landscapes in the south central US and a sliver of northeastern Mexico, and in southern Mexico and Central America. It frequently overshoots its normal breeding range on spring migration and has been recorded in all 49 continental states. In years, it’s occurred about every other year in Maine with almost all records in late May and Jun. Interestingly there are two other relatively records just off MDI, Jun 13, 2016 and Jun 3-6, 2021, both in Trenton.
Scissor-tailed Flycatcher is one of the world's most spectacular birds. You can read more about it here.
