    Spotted Towhee / Pipilo maculatus

Wanderer: Dec 31, 1966-early Feb 1967 in Bar Harbor.

Miscellany: Maine's only record was considered to be the western subspecies of Rufous-sided Towhee until 1995 when that species was split into Spotted and Eastern Towhees, thus by fiat giving Maine, subject to MEBRC review, and MDI a new species for their birdlists.
