    Tufted Titmouse / Baeolophus bicolor

    : in towns and villages with mature trees and bird feeders but in years has spread to more rural locations with the same attributes.

    Miscellany: Tufted Titmice spread slowly from the south into our part of Maine beginning in the early 1980s with the very occasional bird appearing at a bird feeder. It remained rare into the early 2000s with numbers increasing steadily beginning about 2010.
