    Violet-green Swallow / Tachycineta thalassina

Wanderer: Apr 18, 2018 at Hamilton Pond.

Miscellany: Violet-green Swallow occupies the western 40% of North America and wanders very infrequently to the northeast. If the Hamilton Pond bird, Maine's first, wanted to remain a secret, it made the mistake of flying in front of Nathan Dubrow, a perceptive COA ornithology student. It was around just one afternoon but the word got out quickly and some people from 100 miles away successfully ‘chased' the bird.
