    Western Kingbird / Tyrannus verticalis

: in open areas late Aug-early Sep and again late Oct-mid Nov, and especially 22 Jun 2024 on Mount Desert Rock.

Miscellany: Western Kingbirds inhabit the western half of North America in open country with trees but every year small numbers of young birds wander to the northeast. Our few records occur in early fall when they associate with migrating Eastern Kingbirds and again, and more frequently, in late fall when they sometimes associate with American Robins.
