: Non-breeding. and mid Jun-early Sep often in small flocks and almost always sub-adults, along especially in lower Blue Hill Bay.

: early Oct-late Nov with a late Oct/early Nov peak, and again early Apr-early May with from mid Sep and to late May. Most easily seen on passage from Schoodic Point and Otter Point, especially on days with strong southwest (spring) and southeast (fall) winds.

    : especially along the Dec-Mar.

Miscellany: White-winged Scoters breed mostly west of the 100th meridian. The northern and eastern parts of the population winter on the east coast mostly between Long island and the Chesapeake Bay and the southern and western populations winter on the west coast. There's a lake in Saskatchewan where roughly half the females with known migration routes migrated to the Atlantic and half to the Pacific.
