: Breeds. in coniferous and mixed forests.
: to and widespread mid Apr-mid May with a peak late Apr-early May and from late Mar, and again mid Sep-late Nov with a peak late Sep-mid Oct and from mid Aug and to early Dec.
Winters: mid Dec-early Jan where Bayberry occurs and on suet at bird feeders.
Miscellany: Yellow-rumped Warbler's ability to digest the waxes in Bayberries, unique among warblers, allows it to survive some winters where the shrub occurs. In our area that's mostly at Schoodic Peninsula and on the outer islands.
